So far, i think the most important thing we've learned is how journalists go about producing an article. I hope to continue to learn about more
news elements as well. We have learned about timeliness, prominence, proximity, consequence and human interest and how they plug in to a news article to
make it worthy as news. It is interesting how those elements can affect a story and why. A question i have is what kind of importance
vocabulary plays in an article, because it has to be able to read by a number of different people and maybe the writer has to be cautious about word selection. I also wonder what kind of effect a writers personal opinion can have on the story they write.
Dylan: This is a nice start to linking to the ideas which inspired your own writing. I like how you mention the article about vocabulary in the New York Times. What I'd like to see, however, is more of a summary of the important ideas from the article. Rather than just mention it, use your writing to discuss the important ideas that the article raises.
